Jason Oakes was locked and loaded, helping the Wilmington Blue Rocks beat the Salem Red Sox, 6-1. Vinny Nieto earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record is now 1-1. With the win, Wilmington goes to 3-4.

Wilmington took a 3-1 lead on Danny Esquivel's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Esquivel hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Salem pitcher Chris Taylor visibly frustrated.
