Nationals Fall, 6-5, to Quevedo, Hillcats
|
Lynchburg beat Potomac at Ed Smith Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to second baseman Hugo Quevedo. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Lynchburg reliever Jason Norris was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Manny Serrano took the loss. Jose Leon recorded the save for Lynchburg, his 2nd of the season.
Quevedo contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Lynchburg in the bottom of the eighth. With his team trailing 5-2, Quevedo took a fastball from Manny Serrano and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Hillcats to leap in front, 6-5.
"Hugo is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Lynchburg manager Diego Perez.
Lynchburg has a record of 4-4.
