Grainger Stadium was the site for Carolina League action featuring the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Carolina Mudcats.

In a tight tilt between the Carolina Mudcats and the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Mike Viera was the deciding factor. The Carolina left-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Matt Morales picked up the save for Carolina, his 2nd of the year.

Viera gave Carolina a first-rate performance. The 6-foot-0 left-hander permitted no runs on 4 hits over 7.2 innings of work.

"Mike attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Carolina manager Jon Saenz.

With the loss, Myrtle Beach drops to 4-5.
