Frederick Gets Another L, 5-3
|
Willie Cruz had a good game, but he could not keep the Frederick Keys from falling, 5-3, to the Potomac Nationals at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. The Frederick designated hitter went 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Chris Morse picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 2-0. Carlos Franco closed the door for Potomac, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Juan Bautista had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Potomac left fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Nationals in front, 5-3.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Bautista told the Potomac Daily.
The loss drops Frederick to 2-7.
