Mudcats Take Nail-Biter Over Pelicans
|
Fans got some free baseball at Grainger Stadium.
The Carolina Mudcats did just enough to secure a victory over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 4-3, in 12 innings at Grainger Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher John Harris. Carolina sits at 6-4 in the early going.
Up to bat in the bottom of the 12th, 21-year old second baseman Edgar Juarez had a chance to be the hero. Myrtle Beach pitcher Adam Stephens wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Juarez hit a sacrifice fly. The Mudcats had themselves a thrilling win.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Juarez said.
