Potomac pitcher Francisco Valdez did his part in helping his team beat the Frederick Keys, 9-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The loss drops Frederick to 4-6.

Arturo Ramirez had a big 2-run double for the Nationals in the bottom of the third inning. With Potomac leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Júlio Bourbon and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nationals ahead, 3-0.

"It's still just a game," said Ramirez, "whether you win or lose."
