The Carolina Mudcats got a magnificent performance from pitcher Antonio Melgar, who muffled the Winston-Salem offense en route to a tight, 2-0 Mudcats win at Grainger Stadium. Gerbrand Schelling, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. The Dash are now 5-9.

Nick Fraley helped out the Carolina cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Winston-Salem manager Sam Simmons.
