Mudcats Lose By a Run at Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach starter John Williams pitched well against the Carolina Mudcats at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Jimmy Kupetz picked up the save for Myrtle Beach, his 1st of the year. It was the 10th win in 14 games this year for the defending champion Pelicans, who are picking up where they left off.

Jonathan Manes drew 1 walk. He drove in 2 runs for Myrtle Beach. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Michelangelo Merlini. It was his 6th walk of the season.
