Mudcats Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
The Carolina Mudcats locked up a win at Grainger Stadium, knocking off the Winston-Salem Dash, 5-3. On the mound for Carolina was right-hander Bobby Thompson. He played a major role in the triumph. Thompson got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The Mudcats raised their record to 5-10.

Omar Rangel, who is tied for 5th in the CAR in stolen bases with 4, came through for Carolina with a 2-run double in the bottom of the first. The center fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 3 RBI.

"Enjoyed this one," Rangel told the Carolina Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
