Hillcats Knock Off Blue Rocks at Ed Smith Stadium
The Lynchburg Hillcats locked up a win at Ed Smith Stadium, knocking off the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 6-0. On the mound for Lynchburg was right-hander Nate Brager. He played a major role in the triumph. Brager, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Matt Woods, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Ed Smith Stadium seemed to enjoy watching the Carolina League action.

"Nate's a gamer," said Lynchburg manager Diego Perez. "Glad he's on our side."

The hot start continues for the defending champion Hillcats. This was their 11th win in 15 games.
