Mudcats Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Carolina Mudcats outlasted the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, 6-2, in 10 innings. Miguel Vega led the way, going 2-for-2 for Carolina. Matt Bolte, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The win takes Carolina to 11-5.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Matt Acord? The 21-year old first baseman Acord stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Carolina up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I like our mindset right now," said Carolina manager Jason Hawkins.
