Red Sox Secure 3-1 Win
|
Salem right fielder Mario Bonilla had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Winston-Salem Dash, 3-1. The winner was Salem reliever Luis Mendez, now 1-1. The loser was Jose Acevedo. Salem is now 7-9.
Bonilla contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Salem in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Bonilla took a changeup from Jose Acevedo and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Red Sox to leap in front, 3-1.
Bonilla told the Salem Daily News: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
