Hillcats Deal Nationals 5-4 Loss
|
Potomac first baseman J.J. Braun was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Lynchburg beat the Nationals, 5-4. Eric Ferguson, the winning pitcher, is now 3-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 1. Zózimo Oliveiras locked down his 4th save.
Lynchburg relied on the bat of Juan de Leon to get the win. The third baseman ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the third inning to put the Hillcats ahead, 3-0. For the game, de Leon had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Lynchburg manager Angel Coria.
The Hillcats, now 12-5, have been playing some good baseball.
