The Potomac Nationals got a superb performance from pitcher Alberto Diaz, but the Lynchburg Hillcats still won the game, 4-3. Diaz threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Lynchburg pitcher Hugo Quevedo got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Justin Stockton got the loss. The win was the 13th in 17 games this season for the Hillcats. It's a terrific start for a team that appears on course for a return trip to the playoffs.

Alex Ramirez, who is tied for 7th in the CAR in RBI with 8, had a direct impact on the outcome. Ramirez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Lynchburg up, 4-3.

"I like the roll we're on," said Lynchburg manager Diego Perez.
