Hillcats Need Extra Frames to Get Past Blue Rocks
|
The Lynchburg Hillcats wiggled past the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 4-3, at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Lynchburg pitcher Santiago Aguilera. Adam Bolle notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. The loss drops the Blue Rocks to 7-10.
Lynchburg used the timely hitting of Stuart Wyffels to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hillcats on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning never gets old," said Wyffels.
