The Potomac Nationals overcame a pretty good performance by Lynchburg center fielder Angel Aguayo, beating the Hillcats, 8-3, at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Aguayo was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Carlos Miera was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was Maurice Johnson. Lynchburg now has a record of 13-5.

First Baseman Gus Carrillo made an impact for Potomac, when he swatted a 2-run double off Maurice Johnson in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Carrillo was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Carrillo expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
