Speaking after the game, Frederick Keys manager Jeremy Smejkal said "Tarshis had everything going for him today. He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement. He was masterful."

Tarshis rung up 5 strikeouts and surrendered no walks in the game.

"We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," Carolina manager Jon Saenz told reporters.
