Red Sox Come Back Late to Top Nationals, 4-2
|
Salem center fielder Mike Dolinsky helped his team beat the Potomac Nationals, 4-2. Dolinsky, who is tied for 7th in the CAR in triples with 1, went 3 for 3 for the Red Sox. Robert Campa finished the game for Salem and earned his 1st save. Salem is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 3rd in 23 games.
Salem used a timely hit from Jim Unknown to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Potomac skipper Austin Czerwiec, "and it cost us."
