The Potomac Nationals topped the Winston-Salem Dash, 7-6, with shortstop Humberto Rubio playing a big role. Rubio was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Nationals in the win. Despite the win, Potomac, now 6-17, is off to a terrible start.

Rubio had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Tony Ponce De Leon, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Nationals a 7-6 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Rubio.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Cruz Mares.
