The Winston-Salem Dash licked the Carolina Mudcats, 13-4. Bronson Gray deserved a big chunk of the credit. The right fielder was 2-4 with a home run and was hit 2 times, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Dash. Picking up the win was Rod Gaona. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The left--hander struck out 1 and walked 2. The Mudcats fall to 9-16 and continue their sub-.500 start to the 2107 season.

Gray had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth to put Winston-Salem in front, 5-3. With the bases loaded, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run off Carolina pitcher Antonio Melgar.
