The Frederick Keys got a marvelous performance from pitcher Steve Oliver. The right-hander kept the Lynchburg offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 7-1 Frederick victory at Ed Smith Stadium. Lynchburg now has a record of 7-19.

It could have been a different outcome for Frederick, had it not been for Carlos Gaona, the 23-year old third baseman . Gaona contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Frederick up, 5-1.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Gaona told the Frederick Times. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
