Blue Rocks Pull Off Thrilling 5-3 Win in Extras
|
The Wilmington Blue Rocks faced a tenacious opponent in Potomac pitcher Alberto Diaz, but still scratched out a win at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium by a final score of 5-3 in 10 innings. Diaz went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The loss drops the Nationals to 7-19.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Dave Jacoba? The 22-year old left fielder Jacoba stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put Wilmington up, 5-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Jacoba told the Wilmington Daily News.
