Benitez Spins Shutout Against Keys
The Frederick Keys were almost helpless today in their 3-0 loss to the Lynchburg Hillcats and hurler Juan Benitez. Benitez kept the Keys confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Benitez," Frederick manager Mark Crompton said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 28-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Benitez said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

On the season Benitez has a 3-1 record with a 2.35 ERA.
