The Carolina Mudcats got a stellar performance from pitcher Roberto Fernandez, who handcuffed the Myrtle Beach offense en route to a win, 3-1, at Grainger Stadium. With the win, Carolina goes to 20-6.

Ramon Quinones had a big run-scoring double for the Mudcats in the bottom of the second inning. With Carolina leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Victor Arias, who is tied for 9th in the CAR with a 0.99 WHIP, and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mudcats ahead, 2-0.

"Roberto did a heck of a job," said Carolina manager Jon Saenz.
