Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old center fielder Bobby Perez, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans stopped the Salem Red Sox, 5-2. Salem is 14-13 after the loss.

Perez had a game-changing triple in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 splitter from Carlos Aguilar, he banged a 2-run triple to right, giving the Pelicans a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd triple of the year for Perez.

"I did what I could," said Perez. "But like I tell my teammates, 'I can only do so much myself.'"
