Chris Marchioni did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Wilmington Blue Rocks from losing, 7-5, to the Potomac Nationals at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Marchioni went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Bobby Bean. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Wilmington is 13-14 after the defeat.

Potomac used the timely hitting of Luis Campos to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Nationals on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
