The Myrtle Beach Pelicans topped the Carolina Mudcats, 7-4, at Grainger Stadium. Myrtle Beach left fielder Rickey Tucker was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Jesus Caban picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-0 on the season. He struck out 9 and walked 1 in 5.1 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Tony Melendez earned the save for Myrtle Beach, his 1st.
