The Potomac Nationals outlasted the Lynchburg Hillcats in an extra-inning thriller.

The Potomac Nationals beat the Lynchburg Hillcats, 6-5, in 10 innings, in part because of third baseman Alan Brulhart. He was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Potomac reliever John Jenkins picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Justin Hernandez was saddled with the loss. Angel Ramos earned save number 1 this season.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Jorge Dominguez came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Lynchburg pitcher Justin Hernandez, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Potomac on top, 5-4.

"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Dominguez.

The defeat makes Lynchburg 20-9.
