Runs were scarce at Harry Grove Stadium.

The Frederick Keys downed the Carolina Mudcats, 2-1, at Harry Grove Stadium. Stellar pitching by Bobby Richman had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Juan Rangel earned the save for Frederick, his 3rd of the year.

Frederick took the lead, 2-1, on Danny Laguna's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Carolina pitcher Hugo Rodriguez in the bottom of the seventh.

"It's not about individual awards," Laguna told a Frederick News reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."

Frederick is now 10-19. Carolina is 11-19.
