The first-place Lynchburg Hillcats picked up another win.

The Lynchburg Hillcats outlasted Jose Santiago and the Potomac Nationals, 8-7. Santiago was impressive in the loss. The Potomac second baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tyler Crumley collected save number 1.

Kelly Whitfield hit a bases-clearing triple off Angel Ramos in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Hillcats in front, 8-5. Whitfield had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Whitfield told the Lynchburg Chronicle.

The victory gives the Hillcats a record of 22-9.
