The Winston-Salem Dash claimed a close win over the Carolina Mudcats, due in large part to Alfredo Silva. The Winston-Salem right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Dave Perez closed out the game, earning his 5th save. The Dash now have a record of 16-15 with the win over Carolina.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Dave Perez didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Carolina trailing 2-0, Perez retired Alex Caro to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Perez, with a wink.
