With right fielder Vahen Karganian leading the charge, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans defeated the Frederick Keys, 5-4, at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. Karganian was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jason Erck earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 3-3. Earning his 9th save for Myrtle Beach was Joel Duffy.

With Myrtle Beach trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Karganian hit a fastball from Butch Torres for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Pelicans ahead, 3-1.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Karganian.

With the win, Myrtle Beach pushed its record to 19-13.
