Late Rally by Mudcats Seals 4th Straight Win
Winston-Salem got a terrific performance from pitcher Alfredo Arredondo, but it wasn't enough to beat the Carolina Mudcats. Carolina won the BB&T Ballpark contest, 3-2. Arredondo threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Carolina reliever Mike Kats picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jose Acevedo was saddled with the loss. Carolina has rattled off 4 straight wins.

Carolina needed the clutch hitting of Bill George to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mudcats on top, 3-2. For the game, George had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Tough loss," said Winston-Salem manager Sam Simmons. "But that's how the chips sometimes fall."
