The home crowd had a good time watching the Potomac Nationals and Salem Red Sox get after it.

Getting a good performance from first baseman Jose Roman, the Salem Red Sox defeated the Potomac Nationals, 13-7. Roman was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Red Sox. Antonio Trevino, the winner, improved to 1-3. He held Potomac to 1 run on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts.

Early in the game, center fielder Roger Novo had a run-scoring double for Salem. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Red Sox on top, 1-0.

Red Sox manager Arturo Cobian wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
