Pelicans Down Mudcats, 3-0
|
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans faced a tough opponent in Carolina pitcher Cesar Estevan, but found a way to pull out the victory at Grainger Stadium by a final score of 3-0 in 10 innings. Estevan went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Colt Byler was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Gregorio de Leon. Myrtle Beach is now 25-9, while Carolina is 13-21.
Myrtle Beach needed the clutch hitting of Jalen Motley to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pelicans on top, 3-0. For the game, Motley had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We put together a nice win," Motley said.
