3-2 Loss Extends Carolina Skid
Amari Lyles could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Carolina Mudcats lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at Grainger Stadium. The winning pitcher was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Carlos Baltazar. He tossed 93 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits. The save was credited to Jaheim Peters, his 2nd.

Jesse Regan, who is tied for 4th in the CAR in triples with 2, had a direct impact on the outcome. Regan contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the sixth inning to put Myrtle Beach up, 3-1.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Carolina manager Jon Saenz. "We just didn't cash in."

The losses continue to add up for Carolina, having now dropped 8 straight.
