The Potomac Nationals welcomed the Winston-Salem Dash to an afternoon game at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium.

The Potomac Nationals picked up a win at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium, downing the Winston-Salem Dash, 7-4. On the mound for Potomac was right-hander Alex Buitrago, who played a pivotal role in the win. Potomac's record now stands at 19-17, placing them second in the Northern Division.

The Dash had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Nationals going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old shortstop Humberto Rubio came to the plate. Rubio hit a 2-run double on a 1-1 changeup from Winston-Salem hurler Juan Galvan. It was Rubio's 4th double of the year.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Rubio.
