Blue Rocks Slap 4-1 Loss on Pelicans
|
Wilmington starter Jim McNeil put the Myrtle Beach offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his sinker in leading the Blue Rocks to a 4-1 win. McNeil picked up the win for Wilmington, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-5. With the win, the Blue Rocks are 9-28.
Wilmington used the timely hitting of Robert Ibarra to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blue Rocks on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but he made it count.
Wilmington manager Bobby Clontz called it "a darn good win."
