The Potomac Nationals picked up a win at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium, defeating the Winston-Salem Dash, 3-2. Starting pitcher Francisco Valdez was an essential part of his team's success. Alex Arriaga, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Dash, at 16-22, have lost 5 in a row.

Potomac went in front, 3-2, on Sean Boyle's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Boyle hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Winston-Salem pitcher Joe Drake visibly perturbed.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Potomac manager Cruz Mares.
