The 7-1 Potomac win over Salem was due in large part to Matt Wilson. The Nationals right fielder went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The last-place Nationals improved to 13-26.
Miguel Castillo, who is tied for 4th in the CAR in stolen bases with 8, took Salem hurler Armando Lopez deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Nationals on top, 2-0. In all, Castillo had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
Said Salem manager Arturo Cobian: "We ran into a buzz saw."
