Lefty Checa Leads Wilmington to 3-0 Win
In a low-scoring game between Wilmington and Potomac, pitcher Francisco Checa was excellent. The Wilmington left-hander helped his team knock off the Nationals, 3-0. Vinny Nieto got credit for the save for Wilmington. It was his 4th of the year. The Blue Rocks sport a record of 15-24.

Checa earned the win, going 7.2 strong innings for Wilmington. The native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Potomac hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.

"Francisco did a good job keeping the game under control," said Wilmington manager Bobby Clontz.
