Hillcats Take Nail-Biter Over Red Sox
Hillcats fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Lynchburg Hillcats and the Salem Red Sox. Lynchburg won it, 2-1, in 10 innings. Lynchburg starter Braden Hile was in command. The third-place Hillcats are now 19-22, the Red Sox 16-25.

The Hillcats got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Brent Nuernberger. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Hillcats.

"You play a lot of one-run games," said Lynchburg skipper Ben Schorn, "and it seems there's one play somewhere in there that changes the game."
