The Lynchburg Hillcats got a good effort from starter Juan Benitez in defeating the Potomac Nationals at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. The final score was 3-1. Benitez, now 4-1, was the winner. It could have been a different outcome for Lynchburg, had it not been for Ramon Ramires, the 23-year old catcher . Ramires contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Lynchburg up, 2-0.

"I still think this team can play even better," Ramires told the Lynchburg Herald.
