Blue Rocks Win Nail-Biter in 11
|
The Wilmington Blue Rocks, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium.
Wilmington registered a win at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium by beating the Salem Red Sox, 2-1. Pitcher Francisco Checa was one reason why the Blue Rocks triumphed. Salem's current losing streak has reached 8 games.
The Red Sox had few good swings against Checa, the left-hander, who threw 108 pitches over 9 innings. He allowed just no runs on 3 hits.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Checa after the game.
