Pelicans Trip Hillcats, 2-1, in Extra Innings
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans beat the Lynchburg Hillcats, 2-1, in 12 innings. Myrtle Beach pitcher and Pound Ridge, New York, native Byron Erdner led the way. Myrtle Beach reliever Sean DeLuca snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Adam de Jesus shouldered the loss. The Pelicans now own a record of 17-27.

The Pelicans got a clutch hit from center fielder Bobby Perez. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Pelicans.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Perez.
