Salem Red Sox starter Jacopo Zilli turned in a top-notch performance against the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. The result was a win for the Red Sox, 7-0. Salem's record now stands at 22-23, placing them second in the Southern Division.

The Blue Rocks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Red Sox going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old left fielder Brent Phelps came to the plate. Phelps hit a 2-run double on a 3-1 cutter from Wilmington hurler Mike Sanchez. It was Phelps's 7th double of the year.

"You look inside of the game, it's just quality approach after quality approach," said Red Sox manager Arturo Cobian.
