Myrtle Beach designated hitter Greg Truex was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Carolina beat the Pelicans, 7-4. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Bolte. The win puts the Mudcats at 19-26, while the Pelicans drop to 26-19.

Carolina relied on the bat of Ryan Lietz to get the win. The third baseman ripped a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Mudcats ahead, 6-0. For the game, Lietz had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Lietz told the Carolina Daily News. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
