Fans watched the Wilmington Blue Rocks and the Frederick Keys fight to the finish.
The Wilmington Blue Rocks picked up a win at Harry Grove Stadium, dropping the Frederick Keys, 4-3. Brent Graham, who leads the CAR in complete games with 2, was the difference-maker. The Blue Rocks saw their win-loss record go to 19-27. At the same time, the Keys fell to 22-24.
Wilmington used the timely hitting of Matt Justus to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blue Rocks on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Wilmington manager Bobby Clontz applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
