The Potomac Nationals earned a close win over the Frederick Keys, thanks in part to Rafael Valentin. The Potomac right-hander played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Valentin got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Dan Angelo closed the door for Potomac, picking up his 4th save of the year.

Potomac second baseman Niko Von Meyer helped the Nationals go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Von Meyer hit a run-scoring single off Frederick pitcher Juan Jones.

In postgame comments to the Potomac Gazette, Von Meyer said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
