Nationals Handed 5-0 Loss by Lynchburg
|
Maurice Johnson was nothing short of phenomenal for the Lynchburg Hillcats. The 27-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Potomac Nationals, 5-0. Jeremy Bess was credited with the save for Lynchburg, his 3rd of the season. The Hillcats raised their record to 26-22.
Fernando Osoria chipped in a solo home run for Lynchburg in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"You want to go out there and put up zeroes, that's the main thing," said Johnson. "You don't want to get caught in one of those back-and-forth, run-for-run games."
