Mudcats Edge Past Keys, 2-1
|
The Carolina Mudcats picked up a win at Grainger Stadium, knocking off the Frederick Keys, 2-1. Starting pitcher Gabe Espinoza played a key role in the triumph. Espinoza got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. Carolina is third in the Southern Division with a record of 23-26.
Beau Burns was the walk-off hero for Carolina. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mudcats second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
