The Potomac Nationals used an offensive barrage to beat the Salem Red Sox, 10-2, at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. Shunyo Fukutomi, who is tied for 6th in the CAR in home runs with 5, led the way, going 2-for-3 for Potomac. The Nationals are now 19-30.

With Potomac leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Fukutomi came up to bat against Salem pitcher Antonio Trevino. Fukutomi hit a fastball to center for a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Nationals on top, 3-0.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Potomac manager Cruz Mares.
