The Myrtle Beach Pelicans beat the Frederick Keys, 7-3. Myrtle Beach pitcher and New York, native Bill Burroughs led the way. The Pelicans go to 27-23, putting them third in the Southern Division.

Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Mike Finlayson to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pelicans on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I can only hope we've hit rock bottom," lamented losing manager Mark Crompton in postgame remarks.
