Nationals Turn Away Dash, 4-3
|
Potomac beat Winston-Salem at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to left fielder Edgar Guerra. He was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Bobby Vazquez closed out the game, earning his 4th save. The triumph makes Potomac 16-34.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from catcher Pete Mccabe. For the game, Mccabe went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Potomac a 4-3 lead.
"Nice to get this one," said Mccabe. "Wins have been hard to come by."
