The Frederick Keys racked up a win at Grainger Stadium, bumping off the Carolina Mudcats, 3-1. Joel Olave, who started for Frederick, pitched effectively for his team. Olave got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Jose Romo earned the save, his 2nd, for the Keys.

The Keys got a big at-bat from first baseman Freddie Brophy. For the game, Brophy went 1-4 with a triple. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Frederick a 1-0 lead.
